These statements are based off of the Common Core standards for English language arts and mathematics for 2nd grade, and can help you to understand what your student is expected to be able to do by the end of this school year. Please note that your student will NOT be able to do all of these things by this point in the school year; the lists cover all of second grade and we only just finished quarter 1!

Both lists are organized by reading level, and are based off of the types of questions that your child will be asked when he or she is assessed using mCLASS. Being able to answer these types of questions will greatly improve your child's ability to demonstrate reading comprehension.
